- Dwarves - Dwarves, sometimes called the Stout Folk and Deep Folk, are a tough, tradition-abiding folk known for their strong martial traditions and beautiful craftsmanship.
- Halflings - also known as Hin, the "quick folk" amongst themselves. Halflings are notoriously curious and courageous, more so than many races, and their daring is often difficult to match.
- Humans - Humans are renowned for their diversity and ambition, and although they lack the longevity of other races, they can excel in many areas.
- Gnomes - mysterious small-folk who simply appeared in the world one day. It is believed that when Moradin was creating the humanoids, the spare clay that fell off of his kiln became the gnomes. For an unknown reason, creatures of the Shadowfell are terrified of them.
- Giantkin - The appearance of giants vary according to the type of giant, but they are generally humanoid in appearance, just much larger. Their bone structure is denser than that of humans, giving them extra toughness. The following types can be found in dwarven society.
- Goliaths - Goliaths are one of the lowest types of giant in the Ordning (the Giant caste system), and as such many reject their kin and their gods in favor of Dwarven society.
- Firbolgs - Children of giants and minotaurs, Firbolgs are 9 foot tall bison like half-breeds and considered less than people by their kin. as such, many of them choose to live in dwarven society.
- Genasi - Humanoids touched by the elements, their particular elemental affinity influenced by strong planar forces. A genasi be born from any humanoid, as they are not a true race; rather, they simply have innate primal magic

- Half-Elves - Elves, known in their own tongue as Tel-quessir, were a number of closely related long-lived races that excelled in magic.
- For Eldarin, Shadar-Kai, High elves and some Wood elves, having children with other creatures is taboo. For this reason, most high half-elves are abandoned in humanoid villages, where they are raised by their other parent or become orphans.
- For Wood Elves who are part of raider/bandit tribes, half elves are a regular sight. Usually the children of elves and other bandits.
- Few Sea elves remain in the world, most of their descendants living in Triton society.
- Drow regularly have Half-Drow with the races of dwarven society (humans, halflings, and dwarves), having neutral relations with most Dwarven nations.
- Shifters - Shifters are lycanthropes born without the ability to fully transform. A somewhat common occurrence, these “runts” are abandoned and left to die. Those that survive seek out others of their kind and form communities.
- Triton - descendants of an ancient aquatic race and sea elves. They are touched by elemental powers, and their civilization is ruled by strength above all.
